Help shape how public funds deliver real-world impact. We are hiring a Bid Evaluator – Social Value to meet growing demand from public sector clients integrating social value into procurement. This is a hybrid, full-time permanent role based in London (2–3 office days per week) with standout benefits including private medical cover from day one, 6 paid volunteering days, and up to 39 days' annual leave with service.
About the Role
You will work closely with public sector clients across the UK to evaluate the social value elements of competitive bids, using our TOM Systemâ„¢ (Themes, Outcomes and Measures). You will also support training and workshops to build client capability and ensure consistent, fair and accurate evaluation practices. This is a purpose-driven, people-focused role for someone who combines a keen eye for analysis with a genuine passion for public value. You will play a pivotal part in improving how public money drives better outcomes for communities.
What You Will Be Doing
- Evaluate tender submissions for their social value commitments using our evidence-led framework
- Provide feedback to suppliers and clients to help them understand outcomes and improve future submissions
- Support clients in drafting ITTs and embedding evaluation best practices into their procurement cycles
- Deliver internal moderation sessions to ensure consistency across evaluations
- Contribute to improvements in methodology, systems and templates
- Collaborate closely with internal consultants, bid writers, and software teams
What You Will Bring
- At least 2 years' experience in a public sector procurement or commissioning environment
- Proven experience in tender evaluation, preferably across various procurement routes
- Strong working knowledge of UK procurement legislation and practice
- Excellent written communication and organisational skills
- Competence using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- A genuine interest in social value, public benefit or ESG-related outcomes
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience using procurement portals such as ProContract
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems
- CIPS or similar professional qualifications (or working towards)
