As we expand our Kentish Town studio with a brand-new speciality coffee shop, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Barista / Studio Assistant to play a key role in delivering an exceptional café and studio experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves speciality coffee, hospitality and creative spaces. You’ll be a senior member of the front-of-house team, leading by example in the café while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our pottery painting studio. Working closely with the Studio Manager, you’ll help ensure both spaces operate seamlessly to create the welcoming, creative atmosphere that Social Pottery is known for.
As a Senior Barista / Studio Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of the customer experience, combining excellent coffee service with hands‑on studio support.
You’ll prepare high‑quality speciality coffee, welcome and engage guests, support pottery painting sessions when needed, and help maintain a clean, organised and inviting environment across both the café and studio.
Alongside your day‑to‑day responsibilities, you’ll act as a senior member of the team by supporting the training and development of new staff, maintaining high standards of service, assisting with stock management and helping to ensure the café runs efficiently during busy periods. You’ll take initiative, solve problems confidently and support the Studio Manager in delivering an outstanding customer experience.
You will also support the wider studio operation during busy periods, helping to create the welcoming, creative atmosphere that Social Pottery is known for.
No two days are the same, making this the perfect role for someone who enjoys hospitality, creativity and working with people.
Candidates are expected to:
- Have previous experience as a barista within a café or speciality coffee environment.
- Have experience in customer service, supporting, mentoring or training other team members.
- Be organised, proactive and able to prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Is confident working independently and taking initiative.
- Has excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Is based locally.
- Has flexibility to work weekdays and one day on the weekends.
- Is professional, friendly, patient and reliable.
If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, please send an application including your CV and a short statement on why you would be a good fit for the role.
