We are supporting a West Yorkshire Council in recruiting an experienced Fostering Reviewing Officer to join their Safeguarding and Reviewing Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring high-quality fostering provision for both mainstream and kinship foster carers.

About the Role

The service oversees a large cohort of foster carers who provide vital support and stability for children and young people. To maintain strong standards of care, the foster carer review process is carried out independently.

As the Fostering Reviewing Officer, you will:

  • Manage and support a team of Independent Fostering Reviewing Officers (FIROs)
  • Ensure all foster carer approvals are reviewed thoroughly, consistently, and within required timescales
  • Lead a restorative, high-quality, and collaborative reviewing service
  • Oversee robust quality assurance systems to maintain strong oversight of annual foster carer reviews
  • Promote organisational values rooted in restorative and relational practice
