Role Description
The Market Building Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Glasgow Area.
This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of SIS’s premises and facilities, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, welcoming, and aligned with the organization’s social impact values.
The Market Building Manager will coordinate building maintenance activities, supervise external contractors and service providers, and manage facility operations to support staff, tenants, and visitors.
The role includes developing and monitoring budgets for building-related expenditure, optimizing space usage, and supporting events or programs hosted within SIS facilities.
The Market Building Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvements in the physical environment and user experience.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Building Management and Building Maintenance, with experience overseeing day-to-day operations of commercial or community-focused facilities.
- Demonstrated Facility Management (FM) skills, including compliance oversight, health and safety coordination, vendor management, and space utilization planning.
- Proficiency in Budgeting and financial tracking related to building operations, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, liaise with external partners, and build positive relationships with tenants and community stakeholders.
- Experience working in or with charities, social enterprises, or community organizations is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of Scottish building regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainability best practices is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing facilities issues.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in facilities management, property management, or a related field are desirable.
