Salary: £38,300
Shift Pattern: Permanent 37.5 hours per week contract, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours as per resident and service requirements, this includes forming part of our out of hours on call rota for managers.
About the Role
We are seeking a Service Manager to lead our women's service based in Brighton. In this role you will support your team to deliver person centred care and support to residents whom reside within our refuge accommodation which includes women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma. We are looking for someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our Brighton service. You will be a natural leader, able to support a team with your knowledge and experience to provide the best support to the residents, through empowerment and upskilling. The service provides a much needed safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. The successful candidate will support in leading the service and will develop their team which consists of support mentors and children and family workers. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. You will support us continue to work in a trauma informed way, and create a psychologically informed environment, which supports us in creating a safe, respectful, and responsive environment which puts our people and communities at the forefront. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Line management and leadership, offering guidance and support throughout the employee lifecycle, fostering a supportive leadership culture focused on staff wellbeing, learning, and development.
- Encourage productivity, engagement, and wellbeing of the team through regular check-ins, training, meetings, and supervisions.
- Support with day to day tasks within the service, supporting the team to deliver the best possible outcomes with their residents.
- Lead the day to day operational delivery of the service.
- Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed.
- Property and housing management, ensuring accommodation standards, timely maintenance and reporting.
- Striving to ensure excellence and quality in our service delivery.
- Financial Management of service budget with cost saving mechanisms.
About You

- Previous leadership experience, and ability to take responsibility for the full service, ensuring service outcomes, KPI's and requirements are met.
- Demonstratable experience in leading a service/team in a similar capacity.
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly around multiple and complex needs.
- Experience working with domestic abuse and the systemic barriers faced by women.
- Ability to provide high quality support and line management to staff.
- Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve KPI's.
- Ability to provide advice, guidance, and support to the team on all aspects of service delivery including resident related queries.
- Ability to promote the service externally to enhance reputation in the area and with partner organisations.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands and needs of the service. For example, Provide an emergency on call service as and when required in case of emergency.
- IT proficiency - we use various systems so look for someone who can learn and navigate new systems including case management, Microsoft, ATS, HR systems, and other types of organisational software.
