Job Title: Deputy Service Manager Location: This residential site, located in Lewisham (South-East London) and benefits from great transport links, including convenient access to nearby train services. Kindly be aware that step free access may not be available at this service. Salary: £35,000 Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday between 09:00 – 17:00, you may need to work outside these hours, and this role may need to work bank holidays as per service requirements. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a warm, driven and enthusiastic individual to join our Lewisham team as Deputy Service Manager (DSM). This role offers an opportunity to support and grow a trauma-informed, inclusive service for people with mental health and complex needs. You’ll work within our Integrated Community Rehabilitation Service, supporting residents who’ve been discharged from acute mental health wards starting structured rehabilitation support for 9 months in the community. The service has two community rehab services which offer 24‑hour support ensuring compassionate, around‑the‑clock care. As a DSM, you’ll line manage around 8 staff per site and will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to collaborate with probation, job centres, mental health teams and other community partners. We’re looking for someone compassionate and experienced in mental health and complex needs someone who brings empathy, tailored support and real dedication to help each resident thrive. The role includes: * Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle * Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service * Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed * Property and Housing Management, ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements, and repairs and maintenance are regularly reported and completed * Financial Management, including petty cash and budget management * Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required. ABOUT YOU We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. Someone who is knowledgeable in the needs of our residents, particularly within mental health and complex needs and can support the team in delivering excellence. You will be driven with passion for what we do, and be able to work flexibly to meet service needs, providing new ideas and opportunities to develop the service further to continue to achieve excellence! Further, we look for: * Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours and lead with empathy * You will have previous experience in creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care plans * Ideally previous experience in people management and development; Ability to motivate, and empower others to achieve their personal goals and overcome barriers * Ability to provide advice, offer practical advice and support covering housing, mental health signposting, and more to staff and residents * Ability to lead a team to achieve service KPI\’s with support and encouragement * Ability to show genuine empathy for residents and understand the challenges they face * You will need some level of IT ability as we record records using our online CRM systems and use Microsoft programs daily * You share our values of Ambition, Empowerment, Inclusivity, and Transparency in your everyday work Please refer to the JDPS attached for more details on the vacancy and our requirements/key criteria.
