The predicted salary is between 23400 - 30000 £ per year.

Location: Based within Croydon. Please be kindly aware there is no step-free access at this location or at some of our other sites. The building is approximately a 10 minute walk from East Croydon Station.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, working 12.5 hour shifts on a rota 20:30 to 08:00. You may be required to work bank holidays in line with the needs of the service.

About the Role

We are hiring a Night Recovery Worker to join our Croydon team, a 24/7, 27 bed residential service providing support to people with forensic mental health needs, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. You will provide person centred support to help residents overcome challenges and achieve their goals through tailored support plans, activities and partnership working. The service offers psychologically informed housing and resettlement support as part of our wider forensic mental health step down services. You will play a vital role in residents rehabilitation and reintegration, ensuring the night service runs smoothly through welfare checks, resident support, administrative tasks, and clear handovers with day staff and managers.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Being the main support worker for a group of residents, helping to create and update their support and risk plans.
  • Provide advice, guidance, information, and life skills training to residents and participants, while carrying out welfare checks and ensuring the night service runs smoothly.
  • Support residents and participants to take correct medication if needed.
  • Help residents understand their rights, build confidence, and become more independent as they return to the community.
  • Notice when someone's mental health is getting worse and take action to stop things from reaching a crisis.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns when needed.
  • Support residents with taking their medication and keep accurate records.
  • Build good working relationships with colleagues and outside agencies.

About You

Additional requirements include:

  • Ability to complete administrative duties, ensuring confidentiality, and maintain high standards of service provision in line with organisational values to deliver a safe, effective, caring and responsive service.
  • Experience working with people with complex backgrounds, including ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or challenging behaviour and an understanding of housing and social needs.
  • Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face.
  • Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
  • Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents.
  • Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges.
