We’re seeking a Community Programme Facilitator and Volunteer Coordinator to deliver and coordinate welcoming, practical and engaging sessions across our community programmes. This is a hands‑on role focused on bringing people together through nature‑based activities, workshops and volunteer sessions. You will support participants of different ages, backgrounds and abilities to build confidence, develop skills and connect with nature. Alongside facilitation, you will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and communication of assigned sessions. This includes preparing activities, responding to volunteer and participant enquiries, communicating key information, and making sure sessions are safe, inclusive, well‑organised and run smoothly. This role would suit someone who is confident leading groups, enjoys working outdoors, and can combine practical delivery with the coordination needed to create a positive participant experience. As part of a small team, you will need to work with autonomy, take ownership of your sessions, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of participants and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and facilitate nature‑based activities, workshops and volunteer sessions for participants of different ages, backgrounds and abilities.
- Plan, coordinate and communicate assigned sessions, preparing activities and responding to volunteer and participant enquiries.
- Ensure sessions are safe, inclusive, well‑organised and run smoothly.
- Work autonomously within a small team, take ownership of sessions, and adapt approach to meet participants and volunteer needs.
Role Details
- Start date: 15th June 2026, ideally.
- Location: Wandsworth, London (majority of hours on site, some tasks remotely).
- Working pattern: Annualised‑hours role, 10 hours per week on average, 520 paid hours per year, contractual hours scheduled flexibly across the year.
- Contract type: Part‑time employee contract, annualised hours, fixed‑term until 31 October 2027, possibility of extension subject to funding.
- Salary: £28,000 FTE, pro‑rata, based on 520 hours per year.
