We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Contracting Officer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractual agreements, negotiating terms with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting logistics and supply chain operations through effective contract management. You will ensure that all agreements between our internal group companies, external vendors, and independent contractors are legally sound, up-to-date, and aligned with company policy.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers and vendors to secure favourable terms.
- Due Diligence: Vet new contractors and suppliers to ensure they meet our internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process using ERP systems including SAP and Oracle EBS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities align with organisational objectives.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance data to inform procurement strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of all contractual documentation and communications.
- Support logistics planning by coordinating delivery schedules and ensuring timely procurement of goods and services.
- Conduct risk assessments related to supply chain disruptions or contractual obligations.
- Audit & Archive: Maintain a centralized digital repository of all agreements, ensuring no contract expires without review.
- Inter-company Compliance: Formalize "arms-length" agreements between internal subsidiaries to ensure tax and legal transparency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Contracting Officer or in a similar procurement role within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP and Oracle EBS.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms.
- Knowledge of logistics processes and supply chain management principles.
- Organised with exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or business administration are desirable but not essential.
