Salary £34,000 – £42,000 (subject to experience). Shape stories that drive meaningful impact and influence. We’reSocial – a PR, communications and engagement agency creating the conversations that drive positive social change. After a period of sustained growth, we’re looking for an experienced, proactive Senior Account Manager to join our team based in Leeds. A natural communicator with a strategic mind and a creative spark, you’ll be the driving force helping our clients in the built environment, public and place‑making sectors cut through the noise, build their reputations, and earn attention among the people who matter.

This is your chance to take on a senior delivery role with real ownership. You won’t just manage accounts – you’ll lead them forward, shaping client narratives, and providing strategic counsel to steer their direction and amplify their impact. As a seasoned communications practitioner, you’ll understand the bigger picture and how to bring together the right blend of PR and storytelling tactics to help clients grow, influence and be heard. And you’ll do it as part of a supportive, ambitious agency that believes in big ideas, strong client partnerships, and work that genuinely makes a difference. Ultimately, you’ll help clients tell their stories with confidence and clarity. You’ll help shape the reputation of organisations driving change across the North and nationwide. And you’ll help our agency grow — through brilliant work, strong partnerships and a commitment to harnessing the power of communications to do good.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll own a portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted adviser and lead agency contact.
  • You’ll shape and deliver integrated PR and communications programmes – from standout media moments to digital‑first content, thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and profile‑building opportunities like events.
  • Bringing energy, curiosity and creativity to every brief, you will create considered PR opportunities for our clients which position them as leaders in their field and respected voices on the issues that matter.
  • Whether crafting clear and authoritative messaging, shaping event programmes, developing a social content plan, or responding to a fast‑moving news story, you’ll know exactly which tools to deploy and help clients navigate challenges with confidence.
  • You’ll also play a key role in the growth of the agency – nurturing client relationships, supporting new business, mentoring junior colleagues and championing our values of empathy, ambition, pride and courage.

You’ll thrive here if you love:

  • Building relationships – with clients, journalists, influencers, partners and stakeholders across the media, industry and political landscape.
  • Driving delivery while thinking strategically – offering considered counsel on communications strategies, issues management, media opportunities and reputation‑building, while also delivering with pace and agility.
  • Creating content with purpose – from press releases and thought leadership pieces to social content, multi‑channel campaigns and event narratives – all focused on measurable outcomes and impact.
  • Working collaboratively – with colleagues from across our Social offices in Leeds, Liverpool, London and Manchester to deliver the best results for our clients.
  • Keeping up to date with news and public policy – understanding how to connect topical issues with client objectives and proactively grab opportunities.
  • Delighting clients – managing accounts with precision, keeping activities on track and going the extra mile to exceed client objectives.
  • Driving growth – being part of an ambitious, growing business and playing your part in unlocking new opportunities.

What we need from you:

  • Substantial experience of leading client accounts – not just supporting them.
  • A strong track record of managing complex, integrated PR and communications programmes that deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Care and commitment to nurturing long‑term client relationships, based on proactivity, problem‑solving and exceptional delivery.
  • Genuine curiosity and interest in the news and public policy – maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge about media trends, government policy, and your clients’ sectors.
  • Ability to self‑direct and find solutions – you don’t need much direction to get going and you’re constantly looking for new opportunities and creative approaches to execution.
  • A strong network of media relationships, with relationships in the North’s political and stakeholder landscape a distinct advantage.
  • Outstanding written skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills that ensure complex projects stay on track, deliver results, and the client never needs to ask where a piece of work is up to.
  • A collaborative, motivational communications style that builds trust among colleagues, clients, media contacts and stakeholders.
  • Experience in communications roles in the built environment, housing, infrastructure, place‑shaping or public sectors – or a genuine interest in and understanding of them.
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to spot new business or upselling opportunities for Social.

What you’ll get in return:

  • Competitive salary and transparent salary bands.
  • Commitment to super flexible and remote working.
  • 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).
  • 5 days paid volunteering leave each year.
  • Learning and development programme.
  • Access to a medical cash plan, employee assistance programme and health/wellness apps.
  • Enhanced sickness, compassionate, maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
  • Regular team socials.
  • Access to discretionary company bonus scheme.
  • Statutory pension scheme.
  • Provision of home working equipment (including desk and chair) and IT kit (including laptop and mobile phone).
