We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Registered Manager to lead a new children’s residential home, creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.

Salary: £53,000 to £57,000 per annum plus on call allowance

Location: Keynsham, Somerset (near Bristol)

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

This is an opportunity to lead a new children’s residential home, shaping a service built around relational, child-centred and trauma-informed practice. You will create a safe, stable and supportive environment where children and young people can build resilience, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for the overall leadership, compliance and performance of the home, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements and delivers high-quality care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strong leadership to create a child-centred, trauma-informed culture
  • Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
  • Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead and managing safeguarding processes
  • Overseeing care planning, risk assessments and quality assurance processes
  • Embedding the voice of children in decision making and daily practice
  • Recruiting, developing and leading a skilled and stable staff team
  • Building effective relationships with social workers, schools, health professionals and families
  • Managing budgets, resources and the home environment to ensure high standards
  • Leading continuous improvement through monitoring and reporting processes

About You

You will be an emotionally intelligent and resilient leader with a strong background in children’s residential care and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or willingness to complete
  • At least 2 years’ recent experience in children’s residential care
  • At least 1 year’s experience managing or supervising staff in a care setting
  • Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Ability to manage safeguarding, risk and complex situations confidently
  • Flexibility to support operational needs including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Experience working with trauma, exploitation or complex needs
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections
  • Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches
  • Full UK driving licence
