Parking Operations Manager

The role will involve the following duties:

Predominantly office based work. Ability to work some shifts, early starts and late finishes within 36 hour standard week Manage the parking and moving traffic enforcement operation for the Council\’s Review shift regime, rota’s, deployment and operational arrangements and advise on improvements and operational intelligence / optimum arrangements.

Implement improvements following approval Review staff performance and training arrangements Review MTC enforcement arrangements, compliance with regulations, camera performance Draft and gain approval of a parking enforcement policy and deployment plan Draft and gain approval of bodycam policy for CEOs Drive forward agreed service improvement as per our parking recovery plan.

To line manage the current operations team leader and supervisors (4 direct reports) Experience Experience of operational management within a parking environment managing civil parking enforcement and school crossing patrols. In depth knowledge of parking legislation and relevant codes of practice Well-developed people-management skills, including the ability to deal effectively with staff sickness and disciplinary issues Operations Team Leader 01/07/2020 Page 2 of 6

Experience of budget management, responsibility for expenditure including uniforms, consumables, enforcement equipment.

Preparation of enforcement and deployment plans and delivery of performance management to ensure that PCNs issued are upheld and cancellations minimised

Experience of communicating effectively with members of the public in difficult and challenging situations with the ability to communicate effectively with irate customers who are challenging the issue of PCNs

Ability to manage and monitor school crossing patrols in the borough in accordance with Health & Safety requirements Qualifications City & Guilds (or equivalent) Assured Team Leaders & Supervisors

You must either have these qualifications or be prepared to work towards them within the first 6 months of appointment. Working conditions/circumstances Willing and able to work outside of core hours Ability to work individually or as part of a team Current clean driving licence.
