Job Description

We are looking for an experienced practitioner who has statutory experience within this filed. The role will involve the following:

Independent Chair, to lead on the delivery of child protection conferences, reviewing and monitoring the progress of plans for children deemed at risk of significant harm as well as the effectives of social work practice and multiagency work. This role also incorporates the role of Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), who work with children in the care of the Local Authority, reviewing and monitoring the care planning for these children through child in care reviews and midway reviews. As an IRO it is expected that any evidence of drift and delay is escalated with resolution for the child being found in a timely way. The final aspect of the role is to fulfil the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), this will be in the form of providing duty LADO cover when the permanent LADO is on leave. To deliver a multi-functional role of Independent Child Protection Conference Chair, Independent Reviewing Officer and Local Authority Designated Officer, the role is designed to be a versatile role and flex between the separate functions of the service to respond to changing needs within the team.
