Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) job vacancy, close to the Redwick area of South Gloucestershire. Located close to Redwick and Severn Beach area, commutable from the M4, M49, and A403 Roads or just 24 minutes from Bristol Centre along the M4 and M32.

Requirements

  • All candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A recognised SENCO Qualification.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of working with SEN & SEND practice.
  • Experience managing approaches to challenging behaviour.
  • This job is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; all applicants must declare criminal convictions and cautions (including spent).

This is a bespoke school for 7-19-year-olds with Autism, focusing on helping students achieve their goals. They provide education from Key Stage 2 through to Post 16.

Your Duties

  • Support the Headteacher in managing the school's SEN, operationally and in raising pupils' achievements.
  • Responsible for teaching and learning for SEN across the school.
  • Identify and monitor effective teaching approaches.
  • Track data, identify trends, and prepare reports for reviews.
  • Coordinate with other schools for continuity and transitions.
  • Collaborate with transitions team, therapy, and class teams for new starters.
  • Set targets to improve pupil achievement.
