This role is based at a Residential School for Children & Younger Adults with ASC/SEMH needs aged 5-19 years of age. Key Responsibilities * Deliver High-Quality Education: Teach Mathematics to Key Stage 4 level. * Curriculum Development: Contribute to curriculum design, ensuring it meets students’ educational, physical, and social needs. * Collaborative Teaching: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance the learning environment. * Plan and Monitor: Use short, medium, and long-term plans to deliver the curriculum and set, monitor, and review personalized targets for each student. * Participate in Reviews: Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC reviews. * Engage and Challenge: Provide clear lesson structures that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge. * Budget Management: Oversee and manage a delegated budget as needed. Essential Criteria * Qualifications: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification, and evidence of in-service training. * Teaching Capability: Ability to teach up to KS4 in Mathematics. Desirable Criteria * Experience in a school or college environment, particularly in specialist education. * Capability to teach Functional Skills Mathematics. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Effective planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing skills for student progress. * Proficiency in IT and its role in supporting learning. * Ability to remain calm and reflective in challenging situations. * Proven organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
