About the Role:
Social Care & Education are looking for Support Workers to join our care team in Macclesfield, Cheshire. In this role, you will be supporting adults with a range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, non-verbal communication, and behaviours that may challenge.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred care that promotes the independence, dignity, and well-being of the individuals you support. Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker, your duties will include:
• Delivering person-centred care and support that is tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of each service user.
• Assisting individuals with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming, where required.
• Administering medication safely, accurately, and in accordance with care plans and company procedures.
• Supporting individuals with communication, social interaction, daily living skills, and community-based activities.
• Promoting independence, choice, and control in all aspects of daily life.
• Following personalised care plans and contributing to their ongoing review and development.
• Managing and responding to behaviours that may challenge in a calm, professional, and supportive manner.
• Carrying out risk assessments and maintaining a safe, secure, and positive environment at all times.
• Accurately recording daily activities, incidents, and wellbeing notes, ensuring all records are up to date and in line with company policies.
• Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and other members of the care team to deliver the highest standard of support.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:
• You must have a minimum of one year’s experience supporting individuals with complex needs, autism, learning disabilities, and behaviours that challenge.
• You must hold current, in-date CPI (MAPA) or equivalent behaviour management training.
• You must have experience with Moving and Handling procedures.
• You must have previous experience in administering medication within a care setting.
• You must demonstrate a caring, patient, and proactive approach to support work.
• You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to remain calm under pressure.
• A good understanding of safeguarding procedures, risk management, and person-centred care is essential.
