Are you an experienced relationship, business development or operational professional with a strong background in the Learning Disabilities and Mental Health sector? We are recruiting for an ambitious and commercially focused Business Relationship Manager to join a leading national care and support provider on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the complexities of the health and social care sector and can build strong, long-lasting relationships with commissioners, local authorities, NHS partners and other key stakeholders.
The Role
As Business Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships across Gloucestershire, the South West and Wales. Working closely with internal operational teams and senior leadership, you will identify new opportunities, support the development of existing services and help grow the organisation’s presence within the Learning Disabilities and Mental Health market. You will act as a key link between the organisation and external stakeholders, ensuring strong partnerships and a clear understanding of local commissioning priorities and service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, NHS commissioners, Integrated Care Boards and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and develop new business and service opportunities across Learning Disabilities and Mental Health.
- Support the growth of existing services and the mobilisation of new packages and contracts.
- Understand local market trends, commissioning strategies and future opportunities.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure services are positioned effectively with commissioners.
- Attend stakeholder meetings, networking events and sector forums.
- Develop strategic account plans for key relationships and geographical areas.
- Support tender opportunities and contribute to business development activity where required.
- Work collaboratively with senior management to deliver regional and national growth objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, relationships and business activity.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience within the Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Supported Living or wider Health and Social Care sector.
- A strong understanding of Local Authority and NHS commissioning.
- Previous experience in business development, relationship management, commissioning, operations or strategic partnerships.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- The ability to build credibility and develop relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify growth opportunities.
- The ability to work independently across a large geographical area.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West and Wales.
