We are a busy and well-established domiciliary care and complex care provider based in Brentwood, Essex, seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Care Manager to join our growing team. In addition to supporting our Brentwood operations, this role will also involve covering our Southend branch, providing a varied and dynamic working environment. For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway into a Registered Manager role, making this an ideal position for someone who is ambitious, driven, and committed to delivering outstanding care services.
As Deputy Care Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the service and will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
- Support the Registered Manager in the overall management and leadership of the domiciliary and complex care service
- Oversee and coordinate care packages for service users, ensuring care plans are accurate, up to date, and person-centred
- Supervise, support, and mentor care staff, conducting regular supervisions and appraisals
- Assist with the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of care workers
- Conduct care assessments and risk assessments for new and existing service users
- Act as a point of contact for service users, families, and healthcare professionals, handling queries and concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and company policies and procedures
- Cover and support the Southend branch as required, including travel between locations
- Assist with rota management and ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained at all times
- Lead by example in promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion across both branches
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence and take responsibility for key operational decisions
- Support the business in working towards and maintaining outstanding CQC ratings
We are looking for a motivated and experienced care professional who has a genuine passion for delivering high-quality care and a desire to grow within the organisation.
- Previous experience in a Deputy Care Manager, Senior Care Coordinator, or similar management role within a domiciliary or complex care setting is essential
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience managing or supporting complex care packages is highly desirable
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
- Confident in conducting care assessments, risk assessments, and care plan reviews
- Computer literate with experience using care management software or scheduling systems
- Committed to continuous professional development and keen to progress into a Registered Manager role
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential – travel between Brentwood and Southend branches will be required
- Right to work in the UK – please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position
