Finance Manager in Birmingham

Finance Manager Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum Location: Birmingham Sector: Social Care We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join a growing social care provider based in Birmingham. This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining strong financial controls and providing accurate financial information to support effective business decision-making. The Role As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the finance function and work closely with senior management to ensure the organisation maintains robust financial processes, accurate reporting and strong financial governance. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function. * Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. * Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning. * Monitor income, expenditure and financial performance. * Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, payments and reconciliations. * Ensure accurate and timely payroll information and financial records. * Maintain strong financial controls and processes. * Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors. * Provide financial insight and advice to senior management. * Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies. * Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and efficiency. * Lead and support members of the finance team where required. About You You will ideally have: * Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role. * Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting. * Excellent understanding of financial controls and accounting principles. * Strong Excel and financial systems experience. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues. * A proactive, organised and commercially focused approach. * Experience within social care, healthcare or another regulated sector would be highly desirable.
