We are looking for a treasurer who is passionate about reducing health inequalities to play an integral role in overseeing the financial matters of our charity.

What will you be doing?
In addition to trustee responsibilities, the Treasurer is responsible for the oversight of financial affairs of the charity, working closely with the Board, CEO and Finance Manager to safeguard the organisation's finances and strong financial governance and finance strategy. This role would support with the following:
- Monitoring the financial performance of the Charity, reviewing regular financial reports and management accounts and forecasts provided by Finance Manager and CEO, monitoring balance sheet and reserves position
- Ensuring the Charity has sound financial governance policies (including a reserves policy) and robust financial management and reporting systems in place and finance strategy for sustainability
- Understanding and advising on the financial implications of the Charity's strategic plan and of any projects, activities and fundraising it may undertake and on financial and other risks
- Oversight of the annual budget setting process and presenting/explaining the proposed budget for approval by the board each new financial year
- Liaising with and supporting the CEO and Finance team as required on finance matters
- Chairing our Finance Sub Committee and providing updates to the board; keeping the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities, financial performance and risks
- Ensuring that the Charity's financial accounts are prepared in a suitable format compliant with legal, accounting and Charity Commission requirements, and liaising with the independent examiner
- Liaising with professional advisors where appropriate. The charity has a qualified financial consultant who completes our book-keeping, payroll and reports and with whom the Treasurer may liaise as required.
