HMR Engineering is a trusted provider of high-quality specialist mechanical services to the heavy industrial and mining industries. Our team takes on the challenges that others can’t, delivering expert solutions for fixed and mobile plant repairs and maintenance.
We are seeking a skilled mechanical fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing mills, crushers, gearboxes and heavy machinery both in Australia and overseas, as required. This role is a mixture of workshop and site-based and requires working under limited supervision while ensuring all maintenance and repair work meets the highest standards. We average 2 shutdowns per month, 3 - 10 days duration. Our clients are based within WA, interstate and overseas.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose, inspect, and troubleshoot mechanical issues on fixed and mobile plant equipment.
- Perform mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, and equipment installation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, technical reports, and maintenance records.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
- Support the procurement and supply of goods and services.
- Comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting/Machining (Australian-recognised – highly desirable)
- Experience in fixed-plant repair, maintenance and heavy machinery (required)
- Working at Heights & Confined Space Entry Certificates (required)
- C Class WA Manual Driver’s Licence (required)
- Ability to use Microsoft Word & Excel for documentation and reporting.
