We are seeking a dedicated LNG Shipping Operator to manage the day-to-day operations of our chartered vessels, ensuring seamless coordination from pre-fixture planning to post-fixture execution.
Responsibilities
- Operate chartered LNG vessels.
- Provide assistance and propose optimization for all shipping aspects (consumption, routing, ship’s constraints, etc.) to the Trading Team.
- Communicate with vessels, owners and technical managers to ensure efficient voyages.
- Send voyage orders, appoint port agents, pay PDAs and FDAs, and provide regular port cost updates.
- Support SSCS process.
- Arrange bunkering with support from the commercial LNG desk.
- Manage pre- and post-fixture activities including hire invoices, claims and reconciliations.
- Provide daily consumption/position updates for LNG desk and escalate issues as needed.
- Work proactively to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain trading system for all shipping-related costs and advise LNG desk of any financial impacts.
- Monitor performance of SOCAR’s pool of vessels and compliance with TCP. Follow performance calculations and prepare claims when required, with understanding of vessel operations to challenge figures and identify inconsistencies.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of proven LNG vessel operations experience.
- Strong analytical and IT skills.
- Good practical knowledge of Time Charter Parties, bunkering, and SSCS processes.
- Take responsibility for tasks and use initiative.
- Precise in all work and when relaying information.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise work under pressure.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
