About the role
This role is an exciting new opportunity working within genetic rare disease and will be responsible for the UK commercial launch of a next generation, highly scientific product suitable for patients with FCS. In addition, the role will encompass market scoping and pre‑launch planning activities for the potential launch of wider indication in MCS. The individual will lead cross‑functional launch/brand teams in the UK affiliate and be responsible for ensuring effective and collaborative working practices with the global organisation. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 1 day/week (average) at the Granta Park office in Cambridge.
Your impact will include:
- Launch
- Define and deliver the overall launch excellence & marketing strategy
- Work closely with the Sobi global team to ensure local customer needs, patient pathways and market requirements are included in the development of the Sobi global strategy
- Deliver the tactical implementation of the Sobi global launch plan managed through the production and execution of the local launch plan, including any required local strategy or tactical variations and budget
- Work closely with Patient Access and Medical to support any HTA submissions
- Provide product launch training and support for the KAM working closely with Sales Management, Medical and the cross‑functional team
- Ongoing lifecycle management
- Inspirational brand lead for a specified product(s); leading on and implementing the marketing strategy, developing engaging, innovative activities and tactics including the development and adaptation of promotional material for the UK (and Ireland if required)
- Lead the regular cross‑functional team meetings for assigned product(s) including the creation of the annual cross‑functional brand plan
- Engage and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders including healthcare professionals and be an active contributor to the national and local KOL plans for the assigned product(s)
- Provide full marketing input and support for events (national team meetings, workshops, national and international congresses)
- Deliver engaging national speaker meetings and webinars in line with tactical plan
- Ongoing training and support for the KAMs in collaboration with Sales Management, Medical and the cross‑functional team
- Regularly liaise effectively and efficiently with Medical, internal cross‑functional team and external agencies to ensure activities are of the highest standard, innovative and compliant with company SOPs as well as the ABPI and IPHA Code of Practice (as applicable)
- Confident to analyse complex information and data into meaningful outputs and apply insights to business plans to enable data driven decision making
- Active participation in Sales/Marketing/Medical meetings and other internal key stakeholder meetings
- Operate within assigned marketing budget, monitoring expenditure and negotiating to ensure budget optimisation and value for money is obtained
- Measure value, impact, and return on investment of commercial campaigns
- Actively and continuously review all work‑related activities and suggest areas for improvement
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post and as reasonably requested.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of UK pharma brand management experience, including recent launch success
- A background in scientific or rare disease areas (or a strong desire to learn)
- A deep understanding of the ABPI/IPHA Code
- Strong digital capability, with expertise in Veeva PromoMats, CLM, Engage and CRM
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management skills
- A collaborative mindset, high energy, and a solutions‑focused approach
- The ability to work autonomously, absorb new information quickly, and deliver with accuracy
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility for occasional travel
- The role may require the working of occasional unsociable hours; some weekend working, and some overnight stays may be required for key meetings such as conferences or training events.
