About the Role
SOAS is seeking a one-year replacement for the position covering the History of the Middle East during a colleague\’s research leave in the 2025-2026 academic year.
About you:
You will teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations on the history of the Middle East and related areas. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in History or a related discipline, with some teaching and supervision experience. A commitment to innovative teaching and research, along with a collegial working style, is desirable.

The School of History, Religions & Philosophies offers programs covering histories, belief systems, and thought in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, emphasizing non-western perspectives and in-depth regional knowledge.
