About The Role
The role of the Estates Helpdesk CAFM Coordinator, working within the Estates and Facilities Directorate is to ensure that the SOAS Estate is functional and safe to ensure the ongoing operation of the facilities for students, staff and visitors. The Estates Helpdesk CAFM Coordinator will work as part of a wider team and will report to the Operations Manager. They will provide an effective, efficient and focused PPM and RM service, achieved by ensuring the day to day and planned maintenance tasks, activities and service jobs are appropriately scheduled and carried out in accordance with SOAS’ policies and procedures as well as Estates and Facilities directorate’s asset management protocols. This role has a requirement for a ‘hands on’ approach and being able to communicate well across all levels of the Estates and Facilities directorate. The post holder needs to be aware of the nature of the spaces and to be able to work with a diligent and professional attitude. The key purpose of the role is to carry out duties to ensure service level agreements are met.
About The Department
The Estates and Facilities Directorate is responsible for the delivery of the Estates and Infrastructure Strategy which covers the areas of major construction and refurbishment projects; facilities operation and space management, including timetabling and energy management.
About You
Candidates will need a pleasant manner and enjoy working with a wide variety of people. Experience of working with the Higher Education sector would be an advantage. Candidates should be able to demonstrate relevant planning and scheduling skills and a willingness to cope with a variety of routine tasks. All members of staff are required to be aware of the SOAS environment and to be active in communicating and cooperating with other staff and departments, this includes assisting with other tasks as required. They need to be prepared to work in accordance with and abide by all guidelines, procedures and policies. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK or have limited leave to remain in the UK and associated right to work for the duration of their employment with SOAS, in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. We are not able to offer sponsorship for candidates who do not currently possess the right to work in the UK.
