About the Department
Registry is bringing together timetabling, examinations and room bookings into a newly established team, made up of an Examinations and Timetabling Manager, a Timetabling Lead Officer, an Examinations Lead Officer, and two Officer roles. This structure aims to strengthen coordination, improve service delivery, and enhance the overall experience for students and staff.
About the Role
The Timetabling Lead Officer will lead the development, maintenance and ongoing delivery of the University’s central timetable using the Scientia (TechnologyOne) timetabling system. Working as part of a newly established team in a fast‑paced environment, the post‑holder will deliver the full annual academic timetable, from data collection through to the allocation of individual student timetables and ongoing maintenance. This is a key role overseeing the day‑to‑day operation and continuous enhancement of the University’s timetable and associated systems, ensuring a high‑quality service for students and staff. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work effectively with IT, system users and service teams, as well as producing operational reports to ensure the accuracy and quality of timetabling data. Working closely with the Timetabling and Examinations Manager and Officer(s), the role holder will maintain high standards, drive continuous improvement, and optimise the use of teaching space.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and deliver the University’s central timetable using Scientia (TechnologyOne).
- Collect data and produce the full annual academic timetable.
- Allocate individual student timetables and conduct ongoing maintenance.
- Operate day‑to‑day timetable functions and continuously improve systems.
- Produce operational reports to ensure timetabling data accuracy and quality.
- Maintain high standards, drive continuous improvement, and optimise teaching space utilisation.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK or have limited leave to remain in the UK and the associated right to work for the duration of their employment with SOAS, in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
