About The Role
The post holder will teach across the SOAS‑Alphawood Asian Art programme throughout the academic year, delivering both online and in‑person modules as a sole or co‑convenor. They will supervise independent study projects and MA dissertations, provide academic advising, and teach across a range of subjects beyond their own specialism. The role includes marking postgraduate work, contributing to curriculum development and pedagogical innovation, representing the programme on relevant committees, and working collaboratively with colleagues across the programme and wider SOAS community to support student learning and enhance teaching.
About The Department
The SOAS‑Alphawood Asian Art Programme, part of the College of Humanities, offers postgraduate and specialist short courses in Asian and Middle Eastern art, combining object‑based study with art historical theory and practice. Teaching is delivered both online and in person through a collaborative, team‑taught approach, with a strong focus on supporting students from diverse educational backgrounds. The programme has formal partnerships with the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum and works with guest contributors from the UK and internationally. It is generously supported by the Alphawood Foundation in Chicago.
