About The Department: The Language Centre sits within the Marketing, Student Recruitment, and Admissions Directorate. It offers quality teaching in a wide range of languages to SOAS students and the general public, and provides bespoke language training for diverse organisations. The Centre’s expertise lies in making the learning of languages practically useful, highly enjoyable and accessible to everyone.
About The Role: We are creating a pool of experienced teachers to join us when suitable teaching opportunities arise. The ideal candidate is a professional language teacher confident in teaching native and non‑native students using a communicative approach. Teaching may be provided online or on campus, for non‑degree, daytime and/or evening language courses. Applicants should demonstrate experience in designing, delivering and assessing language instruction and be able to manage their own curriculum and student workload.
Key Considerations for Application:
- Eligibility to work in the UK or right to work for the duration of employment with SOAS under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
- No sponsorship will be offered to candidates who do not currently possess the UK right to work.
