Overview

We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join our Infrastructure team. This role is critical in supporting the migration of a key enterprise application from Solaris to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including the associated Oracle database migration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Unix-to-Linux migrations, Oracle database environments, and strong troubleshooting and automation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the migration of enterprise applications from Solaris to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Collaborate with the DBA team to support the Oracle database migration during the platform transition.
  • Plan, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in physical and virtualized environments (e.g., VMware).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation scripts using tools such as Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python.
  • Ensure system security, availability, and performance by applying patches, monitoring systems, and conducting regular audits.
  • Work with application owners, developers, and other infrastructure teams to ensure a seamless migration.
  • Perform root cause analysis on system failures and implement long-term fixes.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
