Our clinics offer a range of onsite, remote, and in-home services to clients receiving Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Dietetics and Allied Health care services. What You Will Do
- Evaluating the medical history and the movement and functional abilities of new patients
- Developing treatment plans based on medical diagnoses
- Mobilizing and manipulating muscles and joints
- Providing treatment using OT and rehabilitation equipment
- Giving patients exercises designed to strengthen and increase their motor abilities
- Keeping updated patient records detailing all therapy provided (i.e. treatment and results)
- Adjusting plans and prescribing new treatment, where necessary
- Community based work with travel and seeing various client types across all ages
You Will Also Be Responsible For
- Therapeutic use of occupations, and activities, including therapeutic use of self (including one's personality, insights, perceptions, and judgments, as part of the therapeutic process)
- Skill development in self-care, self-management, home management, and community/work/school reintegration
- Education and support of individuals, including family members, caregivers, and others, through collaborative and consultative partnerships and family-centred approaches
- Care coordination, case management, transition services including discharge planning, client advocacy and onward referral to relevant services
- Modification of environments (e.g., home, work, school, community) and adaptation of processes, including the application of ergonomic principles
- Assessment, customisation, and oversight of equipment provision including orthotic devices, and training in the use of prosthetic devices
- Driver rehabilitation and community mobility
- Use of natural contexts for assessment and intervention (i.e. home, school classrooms, work settings, community)
- Use of a range of specific therapeutic procedures to enhance performance such as wound care management, techniques to enhance sensory, perceptual, and cognitive processing, and manual therapy technique skills
- Taking on more clients of a greater variety
- Completing AT assessment and reports independently
- Supervising AHA students in clinic
- Providing opportunities to new grads to observe
- Be a buddy for new grad OTs
- Participate in MDT training and workshops
- Begin to build skills in particular clinical areas
