The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.
Based at our Leicester workshop, this role offers the opportunity to work on pieces for private homes, hotels and interior projects worldwide.
As part of a skilled team of craftspeople, you will be responsible for the preparation and polishing of our brass lighting components to a very high standard.
We are seeking an experienced Metal Polisher who takes pride in their craft and is committed to continual improvement.
As the workshop develops, there will be scope to assume greater responsibility and contribute to its future direction and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Inspect components throughout production to ensure accuracy, quality, and tolerance standards are achieved.
- Polish and prepare brass components to a high standard.
- Take responsibility for components and consumables within the polishing workshop.
- Support efficient workflow within the workshop to help achieve production schedules and weekly targets.
- Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and general housekeeping standards.
- Ensure safe working practices are always followed and maintain a clean working environment.
- Assist with other workshop activities and processes as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Experience of metal polishing (minimum 2 years).
- Experience of using hand and power tools.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
- Experience of finishing processes welcome (hot and cold patination).
- Interest or experience in electrical wiring would be advantageous.
- Interest in, or appreciation for, luxury furniture, lighting, and British craftsmanship is desirable.
