What will I be doing?
You’ll contribute to core engineering operations – assembling test fixtures, building and debugging custom PCBs, running sensor test plans, and helping ensure customer kits go out the door on time and to spec. Expect variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to have a real impact on product development and delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assemble and rework PCBs using surface mount soldering techniques and reflow ovens
- Load and test firmware on sensor modules and assist in debugging test boards
- Conduct electrical tests using standard lab equipment – oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies
- Assemble test rigs and fixtures combining mechanical, electrical, and fluidic components
- Execute characterisation and validation tests using environmental chambers and test scripts
- Handle sensor modules safely and manage sample inventories accurately
- Maintain lab stocks of tools, components, and consumables
- Support equipment calibration and upkeep
- Follow and help refine SOPs to ensure quality, safety, and repeatability
We’re looking for:
- HNC or higher in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience assembling and testing PCBs in an R&D or product development setting
- Skilled in soldering surface mount components and using common test equipment
- Comfortable working with bespoke mechanical setups and following test protocols
- Organised, methodical, and committed to maintaining high lab standards
