Our Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead our Platform Engineering division. Platform Engineering at Snyk is responsible for our cloud infrastructure and the platform experience we provide to our internal development teams.
As the Senior Director of Platform Engineering, you will oversee everything from providing rock-solid infrastructure to shared services, and from building a great internal developer experience through to setting the standards around our API and quality programs. You’ll be the strategic and operational leader for software and infrastructure vendors, so an interest in vendor management is a must. The Platform Engineering organisation at Snyk today is approximately 50 people, with office-based and remote teams in the UK, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and the US. Reporting to the SVP, Engineering, you will lead a best-in-class Engineering team at scale and contribute heavily to the evolution of the function at Snyk.
What You’ll Do:
- Shaping overall R&D Strategy to achieve Snyk's company goals as part of R&D leadership team.
- Ensuring effective engineering execution of Snyk's industry leading applications.
- Building up Snyk's security expertise and engagement with the wider community.
- Attending to the highest priority items that affect the entire engineering function, as well as your Platform division.
- Staying at least one step ahead of our rapid growth by scaling the impact of engineering.
- Acting autonomously towards achieving goals, and enabling your team to do the same.
- Coaching and developing your team of engineering managers.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience at the highest levels of engineering leadership in fast moving technology companies.
- Proven experience in Enterprise SaaS at the highest levels of engineering leadership in fast moving technology focused companies.
- A driven, knowledgeable, and dedicated to productivity mindset.
- The ability to plan and succeed, setting milestones along the way, over-communicate, create alignment, rally people and satisfy stakeholders.
- To care about the details and achieving success in your areas of focus.
- An appreciation for a fast moving, energetic, and collaborative environment with a team that is ridiculously easy to work with.
