Our Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced and collaborative Engineering Manager to lead a software development team.

This role will appeal to you if you are passionate about exposing functionalities through efficient programmatic interfaces and developing developer-friendly APIs that ensure consistency in upstream processes and foster future innovation, all while managing millions of requests and handling large volumes of data.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

1. You’ll be accountable for co-developing the team roadmap and supporting technical direction ultimately.
2. You will be accountable for ensuring new team members are onboarded, effectively contributing to the expected level + supporting existing team members to do their best work.
3. People – you’ll be responsible for the hiring of any new members in your team, onboarding and training great engineers. You’ll be involved in career development, pay, promotion and performance reviews.
4. Coach direct reports through productive feedback, building on strengths and addressing areas of development.
5. Processes – you’ll help the team learn, adapt and improve upon agile and lean methodologies. You’ll help the teams understand and maintain a balance between delivery speed and product quality. You’ll be responsible for the team’s on-call process and rota, and be a point of escalation for incidents.
6. Projects – you’ll be a key part of applying our Product Led Growth practices to identify, measure and constantly improve our platform through experimentation.
7. Hands on coding as needed, including code review.

What You’ll Need:

1. At Snyk, each team is composed of an Engineering Manager (that\’s you!), several Engineers. Additionally, the team regularly collaborates with our group Architect and our group Product Manager, who provide support to multiple teams.
2. We are a distributed organization.
3. While we have a strong culture of collaboration, our teams are empowered and encouraged to set and drive their direction and priorities – to define how their work will ladder up to our strategic objectives. We don’t have a culture of micro-management. Instead, it is a culture of support, coaching, facilitation and deep care.

We’d be Lucky if You:

1. Are skilled in providing APIs for both internal and external customers.
2. Have experience in handling large amounts of traffic efficiently.
3. Are proficient in managing substantial data volumes.
4. Have strong leadership and team management skills.
5. Excel in cross-functional collaboration and communication.
6. Possess a solid understanding of system architecture and design.
7. Able to contribute to coding, as needed, and conduct code reviews.
8. Demonstrate problem-solving abilities in complex technical environments.
9. Have a track record of delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions.
10. Software Engineering background, with GO, TypeScript or Python programming skills.
