Overview

The Driving Spirit Based in the South and South-West of England, Snows Motor Group is an AM Top 50 automotive retailer covering 20 brands across 54 franchises. We differentiate ourselves from our competitors by delivering an exceptional level of service to both our customers and manufacturing partners. We are currently on the lookout for a Parts Manager to join our Parts Team at Snows Volvo based in Southampton.

Your day

  • Lead and manage the dealership's Parts team to deliver profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all members of the Parts team understand the implications of the Brand Experience for their role and monitor performance against agreed customer service targets (e.g., CES).
  • Lead the team by personally demonstrating and encouraging the skills and behaviours associated with the Brand Experience and Values.
  • Ensure that the Parts team work closely with colleagues in Sales, Service and Administration to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Parts Department to ensure the achievement of key targets (e.g., parts & accessory sales volumes and margins).
  • Plan and manage parts and accessory stock levels to meet customer requirements and minimise cost.
  • Ensure non-current stock is promoted to build sales or returned within the 50-day period to minimise levels of non-current stock.
  • Manage stock visibility to ensure all necessary personnel have accurate information on availability and price.
  • Negotiate with non-franchise parts suppliers to achieve the best price.
  • Continuously review and improve Parts processes and systems to deliver increased levels of customer satisfaction whilst maximising profitability.
  • Manage the dealership's trade sales activity - including prospecting activity, agreement of discounts and van sales.
  • Work with colleagues across the dealership to investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Monitor staff training needs, ensuring training and development plans are in place and up to date for all members of the team.
  • Work with HR to address any employee matters in a timely manner (performance issues/recruitment/ER issues).
  • Plan and organise own daily selling activity - for example by telephoning sales prospects (previous/existing customers or general enquiries) to obtain new business.
  • Maintain the showroom environment and displays to agreed guidelines, including the presentation of used car point of sale data.

  • Technical Qualification or proven experience of working with vehicle parts.
  • Able to communicate effectively with team, manage external relationships and customer relationships to deliver required information in a timely way.
  • Proven supervisory/management experience - able to supervise and mentor team members to achieve their workload.
  • Able to assimilate information quickly and provide considered responses.
  • Strong work ethic and adaptable to change.
  • Attention to detail and maintains good, accurate quality of work.
  • PC, Microsoft, and web literate.
  • Full, clean driving license.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:30 (with 1 hour for lunch)
