Job Summary: The Assistant Sales Manager is a member of the Stellantis Fleet Sales Team and will report to the Stellantis Fleet Sales Manager. The Assistant Sales Manager role is to help achieve sales and financial targets by the effective development of the Sales Department's plans and budgets, in accordance with the criteria set out by the brand to drive performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Managing the Sales Team, Sales Administrators and Fleet Support Assistants to ensure they meet their set goals and objectives in order to maintain key relationships with customers, broker partners, Lease Co's and Manufacturers.
- Deputise in the absence of the Stellantis Fleet Sales Manager, ensuring that the department continues to operate as needed and required.
- Have a full understanding of the day-to-day operation and how the different members of the team contribute to the overall running of the department.
- Be able to submit forecasts for volume and profit for each brand and drive the team members to deliver the best result possible.
- Understand, complete and return accounts reports to include but not limited to VSL debtor lists, Manufacturer bonus reconciliations and deferred payment files.
- Be involved with and assist in relationships with key broker partners and be able to act with regards pricing batch deals, stock supply, ordering, rejections and ongoing issues that occur across all brands represented.
- Help and assist with incoming issues from key partners, helping the delivery team with vehicle preparation issues at PDI and relaying necessary information to manufacturers for ongoing support.
- Work with the marketing team and local business specialist to ensure that the department adheres to the programme requirements ensuring maximum bonus earnings.
- Help to oversee the transfer of product knowledge to the sales team to ensure everyone is up to date on the product/brand and has received the relevant training.
- Contribute to developing and achieving a Department Profit Plan, ensuring it involves all financial aspects of the department, including, but not limited to: Annual business plans, Marketing and advertising budgets, Operating expenses, Capital budgets, The assessments of sales forecasts and potential.
- Ensure all enquiries are handled effectively following the correct sales process and that all subsequent transactions are recorded in the right way (i.e., insurance, mechanical protection, and the commission received).
- Ensure the 'Treating Customer Fairly' process is followed to assist the Group in meeting its obligations under the Financial Conduct Authority's guidelines.
- Help to manage the stock (new and used vehicles) and ensure stocking interest charges are kept to a minimum through extension requests and focus on selling overage stock units.
- Ensure customer records in both computer and paper formats are kept accurately and in line with GDPR.
- Ensure all used LCV's are presented correctly on the forecourt.
- Assist with authorising all repair and preparatory work on sales.
- Help to manage the presentation of the dealership off-site, through marketing activities such as advertising, sponsorship, or promotions, to ensure conformity with the brand specifications.
Skills & Competencies:
- Technical knowledge gained in retail motor industry.
- Numerate and articulate.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of financial systems i.e. Connect online, TCF SAF and manufacturer systems.
- A full driving licence.
- Inspire leadership and teamwork.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Have experience in a similar sales environment.
- Develop self and others - have experience managing a team.
- Result driven and able to make things happen - has experience of a target driven sales environment.
