Electric Vehicle Diagnostic Technician
Role & Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing electric vehicles and their associated systems, including batteries, motors, charging systems, and electrical control units. You’ll play a key role in maintaining safety, performance, and sustainability standards as the industry continues to shift toward electric mobility.

Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on electric vehicles, including battery systems, electric drivetrains, and high-voltage components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and electronic system issues using diagnostic tools and software.
- Install and test EV charging equipment and ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Calibrate and program vehicle control systems and sensors.
- Maintain accurate service records and provide detailed repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations during all repair and maintenance procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest EV technologies, tools, and industry practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, service advisors, and other team members to provide excellent customer support.

- Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation.
- Previous work experience in a franchise dealership.
- Highly skilled in fault diagnosis.
- Commitment to delivering first class customer service.
- F-Gas trained with certificate.
