We are currently on the lookout for a talented Bodyshop Cosmetic Repair Paint Technician to join our team at Snows Accident Repair Centre, based in Bournemouth.

Your day

The Cosmetic Paint Technician is a member of the Cosmetic Operations and will report to the Smart Operations Manager. The Cosmetic Paint Technician is part of the off‑site team and is responsible for the refinish paint work to all vehicles at our Dealership sites. This includes the preparation stage through to completion always achieving a high standard of repair. You will be working from one of our state‑of‑the‑art Cosmetic facilities based at Buurnemouth.

Your day will include working alongside others in the Bodyshop team:

  • Responsible for ensuring the correct paint repair is performed on the damaged vehicles.
  • Ensuring the correct paint is chosen and the appropriate preparation is performed on the vehicle before it is painted.
  • Maintain the paint room and associated equipment to ensure it is of a good working order reporting any defective equipment to the management.
  • Follow instructions on the job card regarding the re‑paint.
  • Use PPE and take all appropriate safety measures to ensure you are working safely and looking after the facility you are operating in.
  • Supervise other team members as necessary.
  • Report any problems that arise to the SMART Ops Manager and liaise with other departments where appropriate.
  • Manage your work flow
  • Carry out basic vehicle appraisals and costings
  • Discuss repair requirements with Dealerships

Have you got what it takes?

  • Relevant industry NVQ’s or City & Guilds accreditation.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturer approved accident repair centre.
  • Experience in all aspects of automotive paint re‑finishing and deliver a quality finish.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Able to plan, organise self and meet agreed work deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and maintains good, accurate quality of work.
  • Experience in providing a first‑class service to customers.
  • Full clean driving licence.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday 0800 – 1700 (with half hour for lunch).
