We are seeking a motivated and experienced Despatch Manager to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for ensuring efficient and effective despatch operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!
- Ensure that the Despatch department operates as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible while also ensuring that quality, hygiene and health & safety, delivery on time, and general housekeeping conform to all current SOPs.
- Support, manage, organise, and control all activities within the Despatch Dept, liaise with and support the internal/external cross-functional links of the business and beyond.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, the site team at all levels and assign, train, and organise colleagues within your area.
- Manage productivity and performance ensuring the required service levels & performance results are achieved.
- Pro-actively manage to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees within the area by supporting and enforcing standards set out in the Health and Safety policy as a minimum.
- Lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping to ensure both business and customer standards are maintained, and audit ready every day requirements are fully met.
- Manage the performance of all members and deliver improvements through the daily Tier 2 meetings.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the dispatch team members, ensuring they are effective in their roles.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
- Own the training and development of all levels of your team.
- Actively coach, develop, recruit and train team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the business.
- Challenge and ensure the team delivers agreed KPIs across Despatch ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs.
- Develop and deliver action plans and implement PIPs and identify areas for improvement.
- Create delivery reports to track daily customer orders.
- Double-check employees' completed tasks before each shift begins.
- Ensure that all deliveries achieved during the day are accurately entered into the system.
- Ensure companies KPI's are maintained and achieved.
