At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results.

We are hiring a Solution Engineer dedicated to one of Snowflake's most strategically important financial services customers. This is a named-account role where your entire focus will be a single global financial institution. You will be embedded in the technical relationship from day one, supporting the full sales cycle and post-sale expansion by delivering compelling demonstrations, running proof of concept engagements, and building the technical credibility that underpins every commercial conversation. Working alongside an Account Executive and supported by a Senior Solution Engineer, you will develop deep knowledge of the customer's data environment and use it to uncover and progress new use cases across the organisation.

AS A SOLUTION ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

  • Support end-to-end technical sales engagements for a single strategic Global Account in financial services, from initial discovery and qualification through proof of concept delivery and technical close.
  • Build and deliver tailored demonstrations and solution presentations that connect Snowflake's platform capabilities to the customer's specific data challenges and business objectives.
  • Design and execute proof of concept engagements covering financial services use cases including risk analytics, regulatory data platforms, fraud detection, customer intelligence, and AI/ML workloads.
  • Develop working knowledge of the customer's existing data architecture, cloud environment, and technology stack to position Snowflake solutions accurately and credibly.
  • Partner closely with the Account Executive on day-to-day deal activity, preparing technical responses to RFPs, supporting commercial conversations, and helping remove technical blockers.
  • Coordinate with Snowflake's Professional Services, Support, and Product teams to ensure the customer receives the right resources at the right time.
  • Build strong working relationships with the customer's data engineers, architects, and technical managers, becoming a reliable and trusted point of contact.

OUR IDEAL SOLUTION ENGINEER WILL HAVE:

  • 5+ years of experience in pre-sales solution engineering, data engineering, or technical consulting in enterprise B2B technology, with exposure to financial services organisations.
  • Solid understanding of financial services data use cases including risk management, regulatory reporting, fraud analytics, or customer data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and the ability to build and deliver compelling live demonstrations of complex data solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to write and debug scripts, build PoC pipelines, and work comfortably in a technical customer environment.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both engineering and business audiences within a financial institution.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a single account, staying organised across an active sales cycle while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and data technology, with an eagerness to develop expertise in Snowflake's Cortex AI capabilities and apply them in FSI contexts.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.

How to prepare for a job interview at Snowflake

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Snowflake uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
