# Frontend DeveloperLondonFull-timeHybrid · 3 days in officeEngineering## 01About the roleThis is a mid-level role for a developer with at least 3 years of professional full stack experience. You’ll build and maintain customer-facing websites and software consoles, using React as our primary frontend framework.Working directly with our Lead Frontend Engineer, you’ll help create a new suite of applications and modernise existing systems, with the opportunity to shape new products from the ground up.The role is frontend-focused, with most of your time spent building React interfaces and developing your frontend expertise. You’ll also maintain and build supporting backend services, including APIs and data access layers, when needed.You’ll work independently and take ownership from start to finish. We value people who show initiative, identify problems early and communicate clearly with senior engineers.## 02What you'll do* Frontend development: Build user-friendly, responsive interfaces and interactive features in React that work across devices and screen sizes. This is the core of your day-to-day work.* Supporting backend services: Build and maintain the APIs and services our web applications rely on, as and when they're needed.* Code quality and performance: Write clean, tested, reusable code, and understand how to optimise applications for speed, security and maintainability.* Troubleshooting and debugging: Investigate and fix bugs across the stack, and escalate issues to senior engineers with clear context/communications when they need wider input.* AI-assisted development: Use AI coding tools effectively, efficiently and responsibly to speed up development, reviewing all generated code with care.* Collaboration: Work with developers, designers and stakeholders to plan and deliver new features.## 03Essential experience* Experience: 3+ years of professional full stack development, working at mid level.* Frontend: Strong proficiency in React, including component design, state management and responsive layouts, with solid HTML, CSS and JavaScript (TypeScript preferred).* Backend: Some experience building server-side services with Node.js or a similar language and framework (or willingness to learn).* APIs: Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.* AI-assisted workflows: Experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as part of your day-to-day development.* Ways of working: Comfortable working with autonomy, prioritising your own tasks and raising issues clearly with senior colleagues.## 04What we offer* ✓Permanent, full-time employment contract from day one.* ✓Hybrid working model (minimum 3 days per week onsite).* ✓The chance to help shape our React frontend and the products built on it.* ✓Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.## 05About usSnowdrop is revolutionising the finance and geospatial world with cutting-edge solutions.
