About the role

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that inspire curiosity and promote a love of learning.
  • Plan and adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with SEND, EHCPs and additional barriers to learning.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to a bespoke curriculum, using students’ strengths to support progress and personal development.
  • Play an active role in learning beyond the classroom, including weekly enrichment activities focused on the historical, cultural and environmental aspects of the local area.
  • Support wider opportunities such as land-based learning, animal care and outdoor education, enhancing students’ engagement and real-world understanding of science.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.

About you

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experienced, or highly motivated, to work within a SEND or alternative provision setting.
  • Skilled in delivering adapted, inclusive teaching that supports a wide range of learning needs.
  • A strong communicator who can build trust with students, families and colleagues.
  • Patient, resilient and committed to helping every student succeed.
  • Passionate about personalised learning, inclusion and improving life chances.
  • Committed to your own professional development and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  • Highly competent in all elements of the Teachers’ Standards, with achievements and contributions that are substantial and sustained if applying as an Upper Pay Scale teacher.
