Job Description

As an Electrical Contracts Manager, you will be accountable for overseeing and managing electrical compliance contracts from start to finish, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires effective coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality electrical services throughout the contract life cycle.

Your primary responsibilities as an Electrical Contracts Manager will include:

  • Ensuring site teams adhere to health and safety (H&S) regulations and the clients safety procedures.
  • Preparing and submitting accurate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to clients as necessary. Conducting H&S site audits and leading Toolbox Talks.
  • Developing detailed testing schedules, including tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Managing project timelines, identifying critical paths, and addressing any potential delays or issues.
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to staff, including conducting performance reviews.
  • Leading site engineers to meet project schedules and client deadlines.
  • Overseeing the financial performance of contracts, ensuring control over costs and adherence to budgets.
  • Managing multiple sites and contracts at the same time.
  • Accurately and promptly preparing tenders and quotes for small to medium-sized electrical projects.
  • Conducting site surveys for clients and working alongside other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handling invoicing and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and legally compliant.
  • Attending meetings with clients and internal teams as required.
  • Developing and monitoring project budgets to ensure effective cost management.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Communicating project progress regularly with all stakeholders.
  • Optimising the allocation of resources to improve project performance and mitigate any constraints.
  • Identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to manage and reduce these risks.

Requirements for the Electrical Contracts Manager job

  • A relevant NVQ or degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience in electrical project management, with a focus on contract management.
  • A strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • A self-motivated, positive, and proactive approach to work.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
  • A full and clean driving licence is a requirement.
