Im currently working with a growing business within the Building Services and Facilities Management sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager. This position will focus heavily on new business generation, targeting service, maintenance and installation opportunities across commercial and public sector clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building their own pipeline, developing long-term client relationships, and identifying opportunities across sectors including commercial property, FM, healthcare, education and industrial environments. This role would suit someone who enjoys the full sales process from prospecting and opening doors through to securing long-term contracts and growing accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new business through proactive sales activity and networking
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance contracts and project work
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
  • Arrange meetings with key decision-makers across target sectors
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to close
  • Produce proposals, quotations and tender submissions
  • Work closely with operational and estimating teams to deliver solutions
  • Attend industry events and develop market presence
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous Business Development experience within FM, Electrical, HVAC, Fire & Security or Building Services
  • Proven track record of winning new business
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Confident developing relationships with new clients
  • Self-motivated and target-driven
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Existing industry contacts would be beneficial
  • Full UK driving licence required
