We're working with a leading Fire & Security contractor that specialises in delivering and maintaining fire alarm systems within some of the UK's most critical data centre environments. Due to continued growth and a strong portfolio of long-term service contracts, they're looking to recruit an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join their growing team. The Role
As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair of fire alarm systems across a portfolio of mission-critical data centres throughout London and the South East. Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll ensure systems remain fully operational, compliant and performing to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems
- Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently
- Complete small remedial works where required
- Accurately complete service reports and documentation
- Liaise with clients and site management professionally
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 5839 and company procedures
- Participate in the on-call rota
About You
We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer with a strong technical background and a proactive approach to customer service.
Essential:
- Experience servicing and fault-finding fire alarm systems
- Strong knowledge of BS 5839
- Experience working on addressable fire alarm systems
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable:
- FIA qualifications
- Experience working within data centres or other mission-critical environments
- Knowledge of gas suppression systems, aspirating smoke detection or integrated life safety systems
- ECS or CSCS card
