As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair of fire alarm systems across a portfolio of mission‑critical data centres throughout London and the South East. Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will ensure systems remain fully operational, compliant and performing to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently
  • Complete small remedial works where required
  • Accurately complete service reports and documentation
  • Liaise with clients and site management professionally
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 5839 and company procedures
  • Participate in the on‑call rota

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer with a strong technical background and a proactive approach to customer service.

Essential

  • Experience servicing and fault‑finding fire alarm systems
  • Strong knowledge of BS 5839
  • Experience working on addressable fire alarm systems
  • Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication and customer‑facing skills

Desirable

  • FIA qualifications
  • Experience working within data centres or other mission‑critical environments
  • Knowledge of gas suppression systems, aspirating smoke detection or integrated life safety systems
  • ECS or CSCS card
