Aspen’s Bar & Kitchen at the SnowDome offers a unique alpine dining experience in the heart of Tamworth. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Sous Chef to support the kitchen operation and help deliver a fresh, exciting food offer that matches this one‑of‑a‑kind setting. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high quality food and ensure a smooth, efficient kitchen operation. You’ll lead by example during service, support the development of the kitchen team, and play a key part in maintaining high standards across quality, consistency and performance. Job Type: Full-Time (40hrs a week, 5 out of 7 days, including evenings and weekends)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
  • Deliver consistent high standards in quality and presentation
  • Assist with menu development and seasonal food ideas
  • Help manage stock levels, food costs and kitchen efficiency
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene and compliance standards are maintained
  • Train and develop junior kitchen team members
  • Keep the kitchen organised, clean and operating smoothly
  • Step into leadership responsibilities when the Head Chef is absent

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Good understanding of stock management and cost control
  • A positive, team‑focused attitude
  • Passion for food quality and delivering great guest experiences
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
