We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and a strong commitment to delivering goods safely and efficiently.
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations.
Job Description
- Primarily drive an HGV Class 2 vehicle to transport goods to and from different locations.
- Follow all transport safety regulations.
- Follow all company Health & Safety guidelines and work to the company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Complete daily vehicle checks before going out onto the public highway.
- Make safe and timely deliveries as per instruction.
- Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law and within tachograph regulations and driver hour limits.
- Load and unload the vehicle.
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries and collections of linen.
- Communicate effectively with the transport supervisor and other team members.
- Keep vehicles and working areas tidy.
- Work as part of a team within a rota which will include some factory-based work.
Job Requirements
- Must carry correct HGV Class 2 licence.
- Customer friendly approach.
- Ability to work solo and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach.
- Insurer\'s policy requires drivers to be 21 and over.
Hours of Work
- 39 hours per week plus overtime, based on 4-on-3-off shift rotation.
- Monday to Sunday (including Boxing Day).
- Start times from 3am.
Package
- 28 days holiday.
- Starting rate £17 per hour.
- Overtime paid at time and a half after 39 hours.
- Uniform provided.
- Tier 2 rate of pay for excellent work £17.50.
- Weekly pay.
- Weekly bonus scheme based on quality of work, attendance, and flexibility.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HGV Driver or in a similar role is essential.
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for HGV Truck.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
- Previous experience with HGV Truck is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are required to manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
