About The Job
Are you ready to build something from the ground up? At Handepay Mid-Market, part of PayPoint Group, we are creating a new national sales channel focused on higher-value, more complex UK merchants. This role is a cornerstone hire in that journey. As National Sales Manager, you will help design, build, and scale the Handepay Mid-Market sales channel. This is not a role inheriting a mature structure or large team; it is an opportunity to shape the strategy, operating model, and culture of a national sales function from day one. This role is suited to someone who has successfully helped launch, evolve, or scale a sales channel within payments or fintech.
About The Team
Handepay Mid-Market targets UK merchants with annual card turnover of £1m–£20m, delivering tailored solutions across card acquiring, POS/EPOS, eCommerce, and value-added services. The channel will initially operate with a small, high-impact team, focused on early traction, proof of concept, driving revenue and establishing the foundations for sustainable national growth.
What Youll Own
- Channel Build & Strategy – Design and implement the Handepay Mid-Market go-to-market model, including target segments, priority verticals, and sales motion. Define and embed best practice across pipeline management, forecasting, and sales governance. Create and evolve sales playbooks, performance frameworks, and operating rhythms.
- Sales Leadership & Execution – Operate as a player-manager in the early stages, contributing directly to new business acquisition where required. Own team recruitment, onboarding, culture building and performance management to maintain a high-performing sales organisation as the channel scales. Set clear standards around activity, deal quality, and commercial discipline.
- Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams across Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, Pricing, Onboarding, and Implementation to enable growth. Collaborate with wider PayPoint Group teams, introducers, and strategic partners to unlock corporate opportunities. Act as a senior escalation point for complex, high-value, or strategic deals.
- Commercial Ownership – Own national pipeline, forecasting accuracy, and revenue delivery for Handepay Mid-Market. Balance growth, margin, and revenue as the channel develops and matures. Provide insight and feedback to influence product roadmap, proposition development, and process improvement.
Essential What Were Looking For
- Proven experience building, launching, or scaling a B2B sales channel within payments, fintech, financial services, or SaaS.
- Strong background in complex, consultative sales environments with higher-value merchants.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, early-stage environments where structure must be created.
- Commercially astute with strong forecasting and pipeline management capability.
Desirable
- Experience in a player-manager or hybrid leadership role.
- Exposure to introducer, partner, or group-led sales models.
- Experience selling multi-product or integrated solutions (e.g. acquiring, POS/EPOS, eCommerce).
Why Handepay Mid-Market?
- Opportunity to build and shape a national corporate sales channel.
- High autonomy and genuine influence over strategy and execution.
- Backing of an established, trusted payments business within PayPoint Group.
- Clear pathway to scale a team and progress as the channel grows.
What can we do for you?
- Generous base salary with a realistic OTE of £125,000.
- £6,000 car allowance.
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 UK bank holidays.
- Company mobile phone & laptop provided.
- Contributory pension scheme.
