Overview: My client is seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and experienced "strategic" Business Development Manager to join their expanding sales team. This role is responsible for leading and driving the sales growth of a market leading and Enterprise wide ERP/CRM platform (Cloud, managed and digital transformation projects) within the UK market across the Professional Services & Financial Services industry sectors on a predominantly new business basis (80/20 split new logo/account land & expand/upsell). The candidate will possess a deep understanding of SaaS based solutions (ideally around managed, cloud & complex ERP/CRM & AI strategic sales with C-Suite engagement), while having a proven track record of securing £MM (TCV) new business/new logos and capable of building long-term client relationships within the FS & PS vertical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead New Business Development Initiatives: Identify, develop, and close £1.5M-£3M+ TCV ERP/CRM new business opportunities within the Professional & Financial services sector, including both new logos (80%) and expanding existing client relationships (20%) to further build out their footprint in the UK.
- Strategic Sales: Own the sales cycle from lead generation (in conjunction with marketing) to contract negotiation and closing up to & including the C-Suite. You’ll create and execute effective strategies to target and engage high-potential clients across the Professional & Financial services industries.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organisations. Understand client needs, business challenges, and provide tailored ERP/CRM solutions (managed & cloud) to address those needs.
- Market and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed on market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging ERP/CRM technologies. Use this insight to guide sales efforts and identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the marketing, solution architecture, and project delivery teams to ensure proposals, contracts, and project execution are aligned with client needs.
- Revenue Growth and Targets: Achieve and exceed defined sales targets (£2.5M - £3M TCV per annum) and KPIs. Continuously monitor and improve the sales pipeline to ensure consistent growth.
- Proposal Development and Presentation: Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and demonstrations, effectively communicating the value of their ERP/CRM solutions to prospects.
- Networking and Industry Presence: Attend industry events, webinars, and conferences to build your professional network and promote the company’s ERP/CRM services. Represent the business as a thought leader within the ERP space.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 10+ years of proven new business development experience within SaaS/AI or B2B solution sales, ideally within the ERP or CRM space and coming from a consulting, SI or managed/cloud services environment. A strong track record of closing complex, large-scale £MM deals and working with senior c-suite executives is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of SaaS/AI/Cloud/Transformation/ERP/CRM software solutions, implementation processes, and market trends. Experience with popular ERP/CRM platforms such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, Oracle, or Infor is ideal.
- Sales Expertise: Strong background in B2B sales, lead generation, and closing strategies. Skilled in building relationships and negotiating high-value contracts.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex solutions and engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks. Comfortable with working remotely and across multiple time zones.
- Team Player: Collaborative, with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, and to lead initiatives across multiple departments.
- Location: This is a remote role based within the UK. Flexibility with travel to client sites and events may be required.
Education: A degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not essential. ERP certifications are an advantage.
